This traditional handcrafted basket is made in Rwanda by women, many of who are widows from the 1994 genocide. They support their families through the sale of these beautiful baskets. A non-profit organization handles the sales of these handicrafts following fair trade practices and sending 100% of their profits back to fund Rwandan projects. The raffia palm is native to Africa and the leaf fiber is wrapped around sweet grass to make these baskets. 12 inches in diameter by 3 inches tall.
